Brief

The key aim for the design was to create an Art Gallery Garden well blended with its natural setting and challenging changes of ground level. The clients requested:

· A secluded outdoor room near a pond with naturalistic planting to attract wildlife

· An orchard, meadow and woodland

· Natural swimming pool with pool room

Design Solution

The overall concept of the design was to create a set of unique places in sunken parts of the garden and to blend the garden with the surrounding landscape. The outdoor room adjacent to the pond is integrated into the steep hill and water falling from the roof of the room is a visual link between both levels.
